Weekly Favourites.

I have decided to start a regular weekly post, every Sunday I will publish a list of my favourite things for the week including; Make-up, Skincare, Haircare, Fashion, Food and TV.

I thought it would be a good way to get to know me and easier to digest, then one huge blog post at the end of each month housings what could turn into double figures of my favourite things. Its also something nice you guys can look forward to each week on a Sunday when you have nothing better to do!...

Make-up Product: Topshop Matte lipstick Black Widow

So lets begin, this week I would have to say my favourite make-up product would have too be the Topshop Matte lipstick in Black Widow, the colour is a deep purple, very similar to Mac Heroine, most days this week I have picked this up to wear. Its not a everyday subtle colour but for some reason I cant stop wearing it!, normally I used to be too scared to wear anything like this, the darkest colour I own is Mac Rebel (a more of a pinky, purple colour) once I wore Black Widow for the first time I fell in love! the pigmentation is great, it doesn't dry my lips out and it lasts for ages! also its very versatile, you can wear it day and night. It certainly is now one of my favourite winter lipsticks and will always be in my make-up bag.

Skincare Product: La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo

This has been in daily use in my skincare routine this week, it is kind of a cheating favourite as I have been using it for months now, but this is a constant repurchase and hands down worth every penny (although it isn't that expensive compared to other skincare brands). I have very oily skin so I am always reluctant to moisturise which I know is very bad as it is the most important thing to do. I have found this cream makes my skin feel a lot smoother and has reduced the redness of my scars and blemishes, it has also helped to control my breakouts which has made this a staple for my skincare routine. Its also great as you only need a small amount at a time which can cover your whole face which makes the bottle last longer.

Haircare Product: Pro:Voke Touch of Silver Brightening Shampoo

Choosing a hair product was quite hard as I am not one who is bothered by what brands I use or what serums or sprays I use, normally I just shove any shampoo or conditioner on and dry my hair! but for anyone who has blonde in their hair, they will know that a good silver shampoo is a staple to have in your bathroom. I recently had my hair ombre with blonde at the bottom and have been trying to keep the brassiness controlled and minimised, it is safe to say this is doing the trick! you only need to use this twice a week, you just leave it to sit in your hair for five minutes, wash it out and you can see a visible difference within the first few washes.

Fashion Item: Tartan Scarf

All week I have grabbed one of my three tartan scarves as I have walked out the door, not only are they super cosy and keep you warm in the harsh cold winters, they look great with almost every outfit!
Having three in different colours allows me to wear one with what ever I have on that day. My favourite of the three is surprisingly the cheapest one I have and it was £5 from Primark! absolute bargain I know! its a lovely deep blue with mustard and red colours running through it, the reason it is my favourite is because it is so thick and snuggley and also a lot larger then the other two I own, and at the minute I'm in love with anything oversized!.

Food: Non - Fat Greek Yoghurt

I have been addicted to this stuff this week, every morning I have it with a drizzle of honey and granola or with fresh fruit, its such a refreshing thing to have in the morning and is a good healthy option. For someone like me who doesn't like to make breakfast it is also very quick and easy to do. I have also loved having it as a snack with fruit when I'm a bit peckish instead of raiding the biscuit tin.

Television: Gogglebox (Channel 4)

For those of you who do not know what Gogglebox is, its a programme which records other people like families and couples watching the TV programmes that have been on in the week Its absolutely hilarious sometimes, watching the way different people and families reacting to different things that their watching, my favourite people in it this series have to be Sandra and Sandy, they have me in stitches every time they are on! I'm sure it would be a great laugh to have them in your living room!

So there it is, my first every weekly favourites! I quite enjoyed writing this as you tend to forget how much you love products and use them until you actually sit down and think about it!

Let me know what your favourites are this week?
Anything you want me to try out and review for you?

Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette

Urban Decay are known for their amazing Naked palettes, which are some of my go to palettes for everyday wearable looks for clients and also myself, but when browsing the UD counter at my local department store I came across this.

The Vice 2 palette was priced around £40.00, for a palette housing 20 eye-shadows I thought this was a reasonable price. I was instantly drawn in by the gorgeous girly packaging, the purple tortoise shell effect and the diamanté/gemstone logo (being a bit of a magpie anything that sparkles draws me in). The one thing that put me off purchasing this palette was the fact all apart from four colours were glitters, I used to be strictly matte and was too scared to attempt the glitter just because of all the horror stories you hear.

This palette has to now be my favourite glitter palette, I originally only brought it for one colour which was Shellshock, but have now fallen in love with every single one of them.
Its the perfect night out/party palette, its a great way to glam up a simple smokey eye.
The colour pigmentation its incredible! I expected with it being a glitter that it could have the potential to be quite transparent or chalky, but when I very first swatched it I was amazed, they are vibrant and bold and can definitely make a statement.

First impressions:

The first look I created was a black and silver smokey eye, I used some Mac shadows to begin with but finished it off with Lovesick and Shellshock, I used the Urban Decay Primer Potion and my shadow did not move the whole night which was really impressive! Usually with glitters they will either fade within a hour, create fallout or smudge around your eyes, but when I got in it looked like I had just done my make-up a hour ago.

I am always weary when it comes to purchasing a palette, especially on of this price and that fact its not really an everyday palette, it took me a long time to make the decision to buy this, but in the end I got it on a whim and hoped for the best, its safe to say I have no regrets and would highly recommend this to anyone, some of the colours I will use more then others, that's just down to personal taste, there are colours in this palette which the pigmentation is not as good as the others which I have found are the more green and brown shades.

I have tried to look for cheaper alternative dupes for this palette and initially thought that the Sleek palettes would be good contenders, but there shadows have nothing on the creaminess and pigmentation of the Urban Decay ones. I am still on the hunt for a good dupe, you will be the first to know once I have found one.

Product Rating:

4,5 Out of 5 - Only because some of the colours are not as pigmented as other and not usable for everyday wear.

What are your thoughts to this palette?

Found any good alternatives?
